常识	苏州市民公社
释义	苏州市民公社清末民初苏州商人自治团体。多以辖境内主要街道、河流和有特征的建筑物为依据而命名。最先始于宣统元年（1909）成立的观前公社。之后各街道商民相继援例仿行。宗旨为“联合团体，互相保卫，专办本街公益之事”。其领导体制有干事制、社长制和委员制三种，一般下设评议、干事、经济、庶务、文牍、调查、消防、工筑、卫生等部。组织细密，分工明确。民国之后该类组织多达二十七个。南京国民政府成立后正式撤销。
