常识	萧穆
释义	萧穆（1835—1904）近代版本目录学家、散文家。字敬孚。安徽桐城人。县学生。少谒曾国藩于安庆，国藩颇加期许，谓其将来必能继乡先正之遗绪。上海制造局开设翻译馆，用文笔雅驯者，讨论修饰，穆为首选。得俸即购书苦读考求之，遂熟谙版本目录校勘之学。百计搜访，藏书日富，王先谦编《皇清经解续编》、《续古文辞类纂》，取材多出其所藏群书。又尝至日本访书。出吴汝纶之门，其为文长于考证，以序跋为多，守桐城派家法。著有《敬孚类稿》。生平事迹见《清史稿》卷四八六、陈衍《萧穆传》、姚永朴《萧敬孚先生传》。
