释义	潮河川即今北京市密云县东北潮河关。其北即古北口，处南北要隘。《元史·世祖纪》：蒙古中统二年（1261），“帝亲将诸万户汉军及武卫军，由檀、顺州驻潮河川”，即此。明代为长城防守要地，设守御千户所。
