常识	托马斯·斯丹东
释义	托马斯·斯丹东（George Thomas Staunton，1781—1859）英国人。呞子。通晓汉语。清乾隆五十八年（1793）随父来华。嘉庆三年（1798）任职于英国东印度公司广州办事处。二十一年，升任特派员，奉命充阿美士德使团副使，北上来京。死于伦敦。著有《阿美士德勋爵使华记》（1824）、《中国与中英商业关系杂评》（1822）、《英中关系评议及改善方案》（1836）、《对华商务观察报告》（1850）及《托马斯·斯丹东回忆录》（1856）等，并译《大清律例》、《异域录》成英文。
