常识	五溪蛮
释义	五溪蛮东汉至宋时对分布在沅水上游少数民族的总称。与今土家、苗、瑶、侗及仡佬等族有渊源关系。其地包括今湖南西部、贵州东部、湖北西部一带，因有雄溪、溪、辰溪、酉溪、午溪（一作溪或无溪）等五条溪流纵贯其间，故名。
