释义	红苗一名赤苗。苗族支系。因衣尚红而得名。分布在今贵州松桃苗族自治县、铜仁市，湖南省湘西土家族苗族自治州凤凰、花垣、保靖及重庆市秀山等县。男服同汉族，女着短衣右衽，领襟袖口均绣花边，头缠青布或丝织绉帕，绾发为髻，缚以银簪。妇女勤纺织，所织斑布，坚韧精致。
