have (one's) act together
1. To be well-organized and prepared. You all need to have your act together tomorrow morning so that we can leave for the airport on time.
2. To be stable and successful in life, especially after past indiscretions or missteps. Boy, Ted really has his act together these days—it's hard to believe that he's the same guy who was constantly getting into trouble as a teen. If you don't have your act together by the time you're 40, I'm not sure it's ever going to happen.
