(one's) ears are ringing
One has a constant, high-pitched sound inside of one's ears as due to illness, an exposure to loud music, or a nearby percussive blast. The congestion in my head is so bad that my ears are ringing. Though thankfully no one was hurt by the explosion, our ears were ringing for days afterward.
