常识	越州
释义	越州隋大业元年（605）改吴州置。因春秋时为越国旧地，故名。治会稽县（今浙江绍兴市。唐后复分置山阴，并为州治）。辖境相当今浙江浦阳江（义乌市除外）、曹娥江流域及余姚市地。大业二年复为会稽郡。唐武德四年（621）复置越州，天宝元年（742）又为会稽郡，乾元元年（758）复为越州。为浙江东道节度使治。五代吴越钱镠号为东府。南宋绍兴元年（1131）升为绍兴府。
