释义	丹州西魏废帝三年（554）改汾州置。治义川县（在今陕西宜川县东北。唐移治今宜川县，宋改名宜川县）。隋大业三年（607）废。唐武德元年（618）复置。贞观后属关内道。北宋初属陕西路，后属永兴军路。金属鄜延路。蒙古至元六年（1269）并入宜川县。
