释义	南京守备太监官名。明司礼监外差。洪熙元年（1425）始设。初设止一员，后增正、副二员，正德、嘉靖间竟多至四员。掌护卫留都，兼辖孝陵神宫监，为皇帝三千里外亲臣。位在南京守备之上。
