七星岩属丹霞地貌，因七座紧连排列如北斗走势的石峰而得名，以地貌发育优良，景点紧凑集中和森林植被良好而独具一格。七星岩风景区由狮王峰、月牙湖、嵩溪河组成，每座山峰和每块岩石都步移景换，一个个悬崖拔地而起，有的相对高度差达300余米。
