庆元木拱廊桥不但具有全国数量较多、历史悠久、历史沿革具有连贯性的特点，而且全国现存寿命较长、拱跨度大、长度较长的木拱廊桥均在庆元境内。庆元有五座知名的古桥梁：举水乡的如龙桥，松源镇的咏归桥，五大堡乡的蒙淤桥、兰溪桥，竹口镇的后坑桥，均为大跨度伸臂木拱桥。其历史悠久，结构独特，造型优美，富有民族特色而在中国桥梁史上占了一席地。
