兴坡是重庆另一处著名的梯坎，连接两路口和菜园坝，也可能是主城较宏伟的石梯了，梯坎级数在31-17之间，共有209级，呈橄榄形，较宽处约20米，较窄处约8米。建兴坡曾十分繁华，是沙坪坝、九龙坡、江北等地的居民进出菜园坝的必经之路，各种摊点商店各色行人云集。
