A Web site is a collection of Web files on a particular subject that includes a beginning file called a home page. A web site is identified by the hostname part of a URL. These files are stored on a computer, web server, and the server will send these files to the remote computer(s) when it has been requested.

网站就是网页的集合,网站的开头叫"首页(homepage)".网站是以主机名(hostname)来定址的。当网站伺服器(web server)收到浏览器(browser)的要求时，伺服器会把所指定之网页送出至远端电脑。
