primp up
To make someone, something, or oneself appear more visually attractive or appealing. A noun or pronoun can be used between "primp" and "up." My sisters wanted to primp me up for my date, but I told them I was happy with how I looked. The real estate agent wants us to primp up the house a bit before we put it on the market. She said she wanted to primp herself up before going out, but she's been in there for nearly an hour.
primp (oneself) up
to get dressed up; to fix oneself up by combing, brushing, adjusting, etc. Let me stop in the powder room and primp myself up a bit. I have to go in here and primp up.
