Contemporary and contemporaneous both mean existing or happening at the same period of time, contemporary (often applied to the present) referring more often to persons or their works, and contemporaneous, to events.

Contemporary 和 contemporaneous 二者皆指存在或发生于同一时间的， contemporary (常用于目前的)较常指人或其作品，而 contemporary 则指事件。

Coeval implies extension over the same period of time when a very long duration is involved.
