Usage notes: often used in the negative form not crazy about to express a lack of enthusiasm about someone or something:
I'm really not crazy about TV, but I occasionally watch a ballgame.
Altho crazy about and mad about are true syns. in most contexts, only crazy about is much used in the negative, & of course mad about is more frequently used non-idiomatically to mean angry about sth.--SL, 8/02
